Hand Analysis: 6-A

Ace six is the weakest ace that has no ability to make a wheel using its kicker (such as with ace five, that can make a straight by flopping 2 3 4). Though ace six dominates these smaller aces, the smaller aces are often slightly preferable as starting poker online hands in full ring games for this reason.

Otherwise, ace six isn’t much of anything you can work with in a full poker game. When you do flop an ace, if you get action you will likely be dominated, unless you happen to also flop a six. When you do flop top and bottom pair, which is not that likely, you can do some nice damage to AK or AQ who don’t also pair their kickers, but that seems hoping for magic, and certainly isn’t anything to put in serious money after. Often you should just fold the Ace six preflop.

In shorter games any ace is often considered playable, as it will be the favorite against a random poker hand. Even in small games like 3 or 4 headed, though, it can get you into trouble. More so this would be a head up hand or no hand at all. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
