Diamonds and Moissanite look very much alike. Both are clear, usually white stones with a brilliant fire. One is very much cheaper than the other.

Which should you choose?

One look at the prices and you might go straight for moissanite.

Then again, diamonds are way more expensive because diamonds are natural gemstones that are rare and mined from the earth itself. The moissanite you see in stores is actually a manmade gemstone. Often used as diamond substitute as they look very much alike. Diamonds are rare and precious while more moissanite can be made any time to meet any demand. Diamonds are an investment. Moissanite is well… decorative.

Both do have their uses.

When should you buy diamonds, when should you buy moissanite?

As diamond prices tend to be really high, especially for the larger, whiter diamonds, for glamorous jewelry that features large “diamonds”, to be worn at a function, go for moissanite.

Huge real diamonds set in jewelry would be way too expensive to wear safely, in public without bodyguards following you around. In fact, high society ladies who own such covetable real diamond jewelry would lock the diamonds in the safe and wear moissanite replicas or other diamond replicas of the real jewelry in public.

If the jewelry in question is an engagement ring, please go for the real thing. She is not going to be impressed if that 3 carat diamond ring is actually moissanite and not diamonds. She might even be humiliated if she tells her friends about it and later finds that it is not a real diamond. Better get her a smaller diamond you can afford than a huge moissanite, for important jewelry like these.

How about that diamond stud earrings?
Or that diamond tennis bracelet you intend to wear all the time.
Should you go for moissanite?

That depends on your budget and your taste. Moissanite is more brilliant than diamond but the light tends to be harsh. Some people think it looks fake and cheap and has a disco light effect. Others love the extra brilliance.

If you like the extra brilliance and are on a relatively tight budget but want something that dazzles and really catches the eye, moissanite is your rock.

If you also want your jewelry to double up as an investment in case of hard times, then the answer is to stick to diamonds all the way.

If you prefer diamonds, choose your diamond carefully. You can find out how to pick a quality diamond at http://www.buy-diamonds.net

“Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.” is a legendary Japanese manufacturer of clockworks and wrist watches based in Tokyo (Japan). Citizen has been primarily founded as Shokosha Watch Research Institute in the year 1918. The company was built in 1924 when the first product, a small pocket watch called Citizen, was positioned on the market. In 1930 the company assumed the name Citizen Watch Company, too. The founding fathers once have been selected the name Citizen because they attempted to find a direct way to the peoples spirit. This is still nowadays the notion behind watches built by Citizen.

First watch with Eco-Drive – Models reaching from dress to athletics

For Example the debut Japanese wrist watch including a wake-up-function was launched by Citizen in 1958. In the 1970ties Citizen developed the debut quartz wrist watches with LCD display and afterwards also the thinnest LCD wristwatch ever. In the early 1990ties Citizen started the premier series production of watchcases consisting of titanium. In addition to that, they designed the leadoff voice recognition watch which was another big milestone in their history. Beyond that the firm was an outrider in evolving dive watches for professional use. A highlight was the included bathometer – no one else was able to offer a similar specific function. Additional, Citizen is famous for its Eco-Drive collection of light powered wrist watches. Fuelled simply by light, it doesn’t require any batteries. Designs reaching from dress to athletics (e.g. professional dive watches), Citizen offers an assortment for everybody and every occasion.

From pocket watch to a fashion accessory. What was once, in the earliest years of portable watches, considered to be unsuitable for gentlemen and only for women, has grown nowadays into a fashion utensil that everyone has. Meanwhile, the wristwatch is no longer only a tool to tell which time it is. It is a designer piece and can indicate much more than the time.

A great deal of mechanics in a small housing

The first verifiable portable timepiece was developed in 1500. This was not a wrist watch, but more of a pocket watch. Through technical advancement, which made it possible for people to house mechanics in an more and more smaller space, the required components of the clockworks were able to be brought into a manageable form. In this way, the first pocket watch was born, which at the time was still the size of an egg.

The computerized wristwatch from Japan

A entirely new wristwatch came onto the market in the 1970’s from Japan, which had developed its own watch industry. The new wrist watch from Japan was no longer set on a mechanical basis, but on a computerized control. This wristwatch expanded its range of capability rapidly. The watch no more just showed the time. The tiny timepiece on the wrist now also knew the date, the day of the week and even knew whether a leap year was involved.

The wristwatch as jewelry

Now, the wrist watch is no longer just a watch. The wristwatch has turn into a fashion accessory. Wrist watches come in all colouration and shapes imaginable. One can also get compatible watches from all fashion collection. The current watches are dominated by the correct fashion trends. Despite these contrary styles, there is something for every taste. The small watches, which require eyeglasses to tell the time, and the extravagant huge watches, which make it difficult to walk upright. By all means, one thing is sure: science is still likely to make so much advance – that the wrist watch will be seen on the wrists of people for a long time, to respond to the question as to what time it is.
